Javiera Rosselot releases her first preview of her next album

The national singer Javiera Rosselot presented the video clip of “Free Green”, the first preview of his next album that will be released in April next year.

The song rescues stanzas from a poem that Javiera wrote years ago and is born from deep and powerful feelings such as anger and pain for the genocide suffered by the Arab people in Palestine

The artist with Palestinian roots, since her maternal grandmother, born in Belén, arrived in Chile fleeing the first Nakba (catastrophe to designate the Palestinian exodus) in 1948, He assured that he has a powerful closeness to the culture of his ancestors.

“I carry the struggle of Palestine in my DNA and there is always a tendency in me to genuinely create melodies in Arabic scales., use samples of Arabic instruments. further, my grandmother played 'darbuka'’ (percussion instrument) and those rhythms remained embedded in me, I learned many traditional songs and that has permeated my way of creating.”, commented the also vocalist of the band Aflora.

“Free Green”, produced and mixed by Siene Music and mastered by Chalo Gonzalez, proposes a fusion of dancehall with Arabic influences, reflected in vocal melodies and samples, It also features a reflective beat and a hypnotic bass., generating a deep sense of roots, a kind of mantra of hope and justice.

Premiere with video clip

The single was released accompanied by a video made by Gonzalo Bolton and María Evans, using cell phones and who had the march last Saturday 5 October in Santiago as the main stage, next to the murals located in Recoleta, who are part of the @pintaxpalestina circuit.

“The recording was very symbolic and powerful, because when I wrote the lyrics and when I recorded it I felt 'protesting'. In fact, every time I sing it live I feel like this. Then be there on the march, with my family, my mom, my sister, my niece, moving forward with the people, with my kufiye on, I felt I was materializing an important part of the song”, the artist reflects.

Although it is the only song that talks about Palestinian liberation, The rest of the singer's future album will have Arabic musical influences and she already announced that it will be an album “very very danceable, since the most explored rhythms are afro and dancehall, and several of them are accompanied by powerful collaborations”.
