The grouping, that fuses ska, reggae and dub with jazz, Andean sounds and rock, presents this unpublished production, since it is the first video clip of his career, which rescues the essence of the band during its 10 years of life, showing the powerful result of the union of Jamaican music with Latin American music.
“It's a roots theme, inspired by the melodies of the ancients that we bring to our style, also with the great inspiration of the ganjah that brings together and represents Addis Ababa”, commented Bayron Espinoza, drummer of the group, a Reggae Chalice, about this song.
The musician also highlighted that “for almost 2 years that we did not produce audiovisual material Y This is very special because it is our first scripted clip., we only had live sessions on the networks”.
The song is his own composition. Bayron Espinoza, was produced and mixed by Cristian Perez and mastered by Adam Cañete, from the House of Newén, while the video clip was produced and directed by Audiovisual Transhumant, with the direction of the same composer, the production of Isham Kamil and with Javier Contreras in the direction of photo and camera.
The Santiago group, whose name is the same as the capital of Ethiopia, which in Amharic language means “New Flower”, made its official debut in October 2013 and records works like the EP On the rooftop, which was released during the pandemic in 2021; the EP Stalking (2019); the self-titled album Addis Ababa (2016); and the single “The Supply” (2015).
Celebration concert
In addition to this video, The celebrations of the first decade of the group's history will continue this Friday 24 of November, from 22:00 hours, at a concert in Gray Space (Santa Rosa 1130, Santiago Center).
The percussionist will participate in this show as guests Rodney Martinez, the trumpeter Eduardo Cartagena, the queenist Matias Garcia and the former members of the group: the guitarist Javier Contreras (Invisibleser) and the alto sax player Sebastian Aguilar.
Likewise, This presentation will feature the participation of Morena Sound, sound system that will be in charge of putting together a party to the rhythm of afrobeat, soul, funk, reggae, jazz, rap and disco.
