Bunny Wailer Estate celebrates court ruling and announces releases

After three years of legal battle, the “Bunny Wailer Estate” received the green light from the Supreme Court of Jamaica to finally begin the process of administering the site after the death of Neville O'riley Livingston, the 2 March 2021. The court ruled in favor of the 13 Bunny Wailer's children recognized as the sole beneficiaries of the estate.

The judge recognized Wailer's oldest son, the entertainer, producer and communications specialist, Abijah Asadenaki Livingston, also know as "Naki Wailer”, as authorized representative of the estate. “We give thanks to the Most High JAH, as we remain focused on heritage restoration, the reproduction of our father's vast catalog and the renewal of our father's record label, Solomonic Productions Limited establecida en 1981”.

Through its Solomonic label, Bunny Wailer produced a lot of reggae bastions, including Peter Tosh, Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs and reggae queens Marcia Griffiths, Patra, Queen Ifrica and Ruffi-Ann, to name a few. Solomonic Productions Ltd is internationally recognized as the owner of the copyright to the international hit “Electric Boogie”, written and produced by Bunny Wailer, that inspired the creation of “Electric Slide” of the choreographer, musician and Broadway performer, the American Richard L.. “Ric” Silver. in 1976.

Now, label is revamping production of Bunny Wailer's rich archive guided by producer, Grammy winner, Nigel Burrel, and legendary record producer and sound system heavyweight, Jack Scorpio.

New releases

“Naki Wailer” Livingston also announced the label’s first music release in nearly a decade with “Rock and Groove Remastered”, set to see the light next September. The album - which includes familiar hits like “Cool Runnings”, “Ballroom Floor” y “Rootsman Skanking”- will be available on all streaming platforms and in a limited edition vinyl. The release date also coincides with Bunny Wailer's wife's birthday., Jean Watt, who has been missing since May 2020 and is one of the directors of the company.
