The German Parliament approved a text last week to legalize recreational cannabis, an emblematic project of the chancellor's ruling coalition Olaf Scholz, what he achieved 407 votes and 226 against.
The rule, which is expected to come into effect next 1 of April, will allow those over 18 years possession of up to 50 grams at home for personal consumption, as well as self-cultivation of up 3 plants cannabis, while can be transported up to 25 grams.
With this approval, Germany will become the country with the most liberal cannabis legislation in Europe.
The regulations also will prohibit smoking marijuana in public spaces, in schools, sports facilities and less than 100 meters from the entrance area in a straight line to them.
Fight the black market
At the same time, I know will allow the “cultivation associations” non-commercial for adults, in which even 500 members residing in Germany will jointly grow cannabis and sell it to each other for personal consumption, with the limit of 50 grams per member per month.
“We have two objectives. The first is to fight against the black market. “For many years I opposed the legalization of cannabis, but addiction researchers now recommend this step“, added the Secretary of State.
The law provides that young people under the age of 25 years about the dangerous consequences of cannabis use, while, at most, 18 months after the law goes into effect, an initial assessment should be available on, among other things, how it affects the protection of children and young people.
