Beenie Man premiered this Thursday 20 August his new album called Eminence, a work produced by Kemar McGregor, what's wrong with it 16 tracks in which dancehall converses with hip-hop, the R&B y el reggae roots.
It also includes multiple collaborations with a plethora of artists such as Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross and T.I., Etana, Tifa, D'Yani, Ashanti, Mýa, Stefflon Don and Lola Brooke, among others.
The album, his twentieth studio production, open with “876/305”, where Beenie and Rick Ross connect Jamaica with Miami, while “Don’t Rush” takes the tone towards R&B con Mýa of protagonist, and then listen “Do It”, a song that brings together Kingston dancehall with Brooklyn hip-hop Lola Brooke, with a classic base “Lambada”.
Without a doubt the most charged collaboration on the album is “For You”, in which they participate Snoop Dogg, Stefflon Don, Elephant Man, D'Yani, Shaneil Muir, Tifa, Vanessa Bling and several more, all about a West Coast G-Funk flavored beat.
On the more traditional roots reggae side, Etana appears in “Guide Over Us” and the veteran Stevie Face in “If I Follow My Heart”, two moments that give the album its warmest and most spiritual side.
Not everything is collaborations on the album, Well Beenie Man also has his solo songs showing all his dancehall, like in “Immortal”, “Doll”, “Marijuana In The Kouchie” and “Friends For Life”.
“Eminence represents my career, experience and influence in dancehall and reggae over the last three decades. Throughout my career, I have been able to take Jamaican music all over the world, and this album represents a new stage on that path”, he reflected “King of Dancehall”.
Beenie Man added about this album that “reflects the legacy I have built, while showing that I continue to grow, experimenting and taking my music to new horizons”.
