Reggae Latin de luto: To the 39 years I-Nesta passed away, "The Rasta of the Future"

Sad news hits the Reggae scene again, this time from Panama and for the entire Latin reggae community. The Panamanian singer Joseph Elias Apolayo, better known as ” I In this” or the “Rasta of the Future”, passed away at his 39 years after suffering from health problems.

The information of his death was known early Wednesday. 13 of July. The artist had been hospitalized for several days at the Santo Tomás Hospital, in Panama City, due to complications in his stomach and lungs as reported by different local media, despite her reserved diagnosis. Days before your departure, both his relatives and well-known Latin reggae artists made a call to donate blood of any kind for the operation to which he underwent.

The love and interest in music began at a young age. His musical incursion began in the nineties, by participating in rock and roll bands, but nevertheless, a few years later he met the genre that would mark his life: el Reggae Roots. Inspired by Bob Marley, one of his biggest influences, and after his relationship with the Panamanian Rasta Nini, adopted her name I-Nesta.

“El Rasta del futuro” was part of the reggae group “Inspiración Mística”, and subsequently, gave way to his solo career. “Let love be our counselor and guide”, It was a phrase that identified the singer, composer, and musician, who was born on 13 November 1982 in the province of Cocle, and that this year would celebrate its fourth decade.

The author of “Babylon System”, "In the streets" and "Rasta is a love", visited much of Latin America, appearing in countries like Costa Rica, Colombia, Argentina, Mexico and Guatemala, sharing the stage with artists such as Cultura Profética, Gondwana and Los Kaffirs.

The reactions did not wait in social networks. Artists from all over the region who shared with I-Nesta in life lamented the news. The Panamanian will be remembered for his musical legacy, his humanity and positive energy, so too, as the first recognized and famous artist in Latin reggae to transit to Zion.
