Our history

as project, Reggae Chalice began to take shape in the year 2010 when our director, Valeska Hume, He graduated as a journalist and developed the idea of covering a space that did not exist in the digital sphere.: a media outlet specializing in reggae culture, one of his journalistic dreams.

The name was born in that same year, next to the first logo that the magazine had, and the work initially developed from Facebook, the most massive social network in those times, while the following year a space was opened in Blogspot to develop one of the fundamental objectives of the project, which was to have a platform to generate journalistic content..

A) Yes, the coming years were of installation and making the brand known through different instances, such as reggae events media partner, photographic records and coverages, In addition to writing notes that were published in that blog.

that until finally in 2015 This website was formally established as the support of the Magazine.

In these 7 years since the creation of this platform we have conducted countless interviews with international artists such as Charly Black, Papa Michigan, Mad Professor, Cali P, Jah Fabio, Ganjah area, Bahiano, Lumumba, among others, as well as a large part of the national reggae artists, work in which we will continue working.

Although obviously our main work has been journalism, in these 7 years we have also raised other types of initiatives. Without going further, in 2016 we launched the first exclusively female dancehall Riddim made in Chile (Bigmamma Riddim), which had the participation of Damaris Icochea, Angela, Queen Talulah, Sista Nicky Y
Maialem.

Later, in 2021, we put together 4 women (Almeyda of the Riddim, Maialem, Maria Zion y Kirmotta Black) to raise a protest song against violence against women. It was a Riddim trap reggae produced by Polo parable, presented the 8 March in the framework of International Women's Day, representing all the female power on such a relevant date.

All of the above are Reggae Chalice own productions, in addition to collaborating with multiple artists for their projects, events, etc.
