Heritage Day: where to see “Natural Mystic Festival, the documentary”

Less than a month after its premiere, the documental Natural Mystic Festival continues its journey of in-person screenings in different places in the country. This Saturday 30, within the framework of the Heritage Day, the audiovisual piece will be screened in Santiago and Punta Arenas, both days free, open to the community, that seek to generate a collective space for conversation and reflection under the guidance of this projection.

The documentary - whose digital premiere took place last 11 of May- rescues unpublished record of what was the first tribute festival to Bob Marley in Chile, made ago 25 years ago, event that marked a milestone in the history of reggae in the country being the most massive to date, in a social context of massification of this musical genre.

The work was exhibited prior to its launch on 2 of May in celebration of 11Bunna Café's birthday, in the Cajon del Maipo; and later arrived in Valparaíso last Saturday 23.

In Santiago, The screening of the documentary will be part of a cultural day organized by RusticLab at Matta Su neighborhoodr whose programming will also feature guest artists, selectors and exhibitors fair from 15 and until 21 hours.

“reggae, recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, It is also part of the sounds, messages and expressions that we embrace on this day, understanding heritage as a living experience, diverse and constantly under construction”, the organizers noted on their social networks.

While in the south Punta Arenas, Magellan region, The activity will take place in Aike Lab, to 16:20 hrs (Magellan), and it is an invitation to “to listen, to remember and to be part. History is also lived in community”.

It should be noted that Jamaican reggae was declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in November 2018. This global recognition honors his contribution to raising international awareness on issues of injustice., resistance, love and humanity, highlighting his role as “voice of the marginalized”.
