With almost 30 year career, the Jamaican vocal duo composed of Both Metro and Devonte, they have to their credit 6 albums and twenty singles, in addition to some collaborations with giants of the scene such as Sly & Robbie and Beenie Man, among others.
One of those collaborations was with Colombian producer Dee Master and Reggae is Vida Radio (REVR) and el Killing Riddim with the song “Conversation” and both singers talked with Reggae Chalice on this topic released last August.
“The collaboration for Killinging Riddim arose from a mutual friendship with Balaguero from Reggae es Vida Radio, who approached us to record the rhythm, which, when we hear it, We had an instant magnetic attraction that we couldn't resist”, said Devonte about this production.
At the same time, consulted about his motivation to participate in this riddim made by Latinos, Both Metro said the sounds resonated with them.
“When we hear the rhythm, there were so many familiar sounds that resonated with us and our culture, and to see how much the Latin market loves the genre, We knew we had to be part of this project to show our appreciation in the same way.”, posed the Jamaican DJ.
—What do you think about the development of reggae/dancehall in Latin America??
—TM: I think it's wonderful to see how far we have come as nations and hearts that are uniting through music.. It is also worth noting that reggae and dancehall are gaining popularity in Latin America, we love it and it shows the power of music.
—Do you plan to come to Chile??
—D: Chile is one of the destinations on our agenda, where we hope to perform and promote ourselves. Then, in the near future, stay tuned for Tanto Metro and Devonte in Chile.
—Can you tell us about some of your upcoming projects??
—D: We are currently in the studio working on several projects and promoting some singles that you should know about. Our simple “Conversation” sobre Killinging Riddim, produced by Dee Master and Reggae es Vida Radio, is currently receiving heavy promotion. Other singles in heavy rotation include “Leave That Girl Alone” from Both Metro and Devonte, DJ. Tygga Ty, in Apple Bag Riddim y “Lord Lead The Way” on Zoom Dancehall by Sly Dunbar on the Taxi/One Pop label. Keep listening!
