After a long period of absence from public life, Jamaican reggae singer Chronixx made a long-awaited and surprising comeback.
The artist appeared this week at the training of the Reggae Boyz, Jamaica national football team, in the prelude to the duel for the qualifiers for the World Cup 2026 against the Dominican Republic to share with the squad players.
Last Tuesday, the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) shared a series of photos on Instagram in which the singer appears “Here Comes Trouble” with the national team.
“Look who came through our training today! 👀🙌🏽Chronixx”, says the JFF post about the singer, who in the past called football “the greatest sport”.
This appearance reignited fans' curiosity about the release of their long-awaited album called Dela Splash, whose publication has been postponed for a long time.
Initially, the launch of Dela Splash was scheduled for mid 2020, but, After it did not materialize, speculation grew that the delay was due to the pandemic..
The singer himself explained in December 2021 that the delay in his second album had to do with prioritizing his fatherly duties as he dedicated his time to raising his two-year-old daughter.
“It was not what I expected, but there really was nothing that could wait. It was a new feeling and I wasn't about to let her do anything.. The pandemic was the perfect time for a father to be by his daughter's side and also a good time to create”, said in an interview the creator of “Smile Jamaica”.
