Mariaa Siga presents her latest single

Senegalese reggae singer Maria Siga is presenting his latest single called “Mame Bamba”, available on all digital platforms.

The song, recorded in Montepellier, France, with Article Band, It is a tribute to a Muslim spiritual leader, poet and leader of the resistance against colonialism, the sheikh Ahmadou Bamba (1853-1927).

Bamba founded the muridism, a religious order of Islam present especially in Senegal and Gambia, in a context where colonization had greatly disturbed the social balance in Africa.

To reform Senegalese society, Bamba promoted orthodoxy against the teachings of the Koran and the tradition of the prophet Muhammad, adherence to the precepts of Sufism and the appreciation of science and work.

El clip, directed by Mao Sidibé, It also pays tribute to the
women “Yaye Fall”, followers of the sheikh Ibrahima Fall, disciple of Ahmadou Bamba, with a particular aesthetic, with clothes made of patchwork fabrics and hair covered, plus thick black leather amulets stacked around the neck.
