One week before the official release of Buju Banton's highly anticipated thirteenth studio album, “Too Too Bad”, the legend celebrates his Sound System roots in collaboration with King Addies -United States number 1 sound- on brand new mix tape “"Worries In Di Dance"”.
Sound System culture is a fundamental pillar in the musical history of Jamaica and its artists, so Buju Banton stated when consulted about this work: “Sound Systems are the heartbeat of the ghetto, of which I am a byproduct. Therefore, as an ambassador, It is my duty to petition for them globally.. This was essential to and for my album rollout”.
Fada Eton, owner of King Addies, shared a nostalgic thought regarding the collab: “Buju became a brother while becoming a multi-generational reggae dancehall pilar and prolific legend.. It's nice to hear him return to his roots with this new album. Also, itĀ“s both a pleasure and an honor to celebrate his greatness and King Addies legacy on this mix”.
Powerfull momentum for the july 17th release of the new album 17 on VP Records is anchored by the blazing hot "Butterflies" “single”. However, while “"Worries In Di Dance"” builds on that momentum, it also guides us through Buju's consistent impact: from his early career with classics like “Hills and Valley” or “Wanna Be Loved” to the new album, “Too Too Bad”, production that is the āspiritualā successor for "Too Bad" (2006), one of the most celebrated albums in Jamaican dancehall.
Selection and mixed by selector Kingpin Addies, This energy-packed hour-long session launched on Friday, 10 July at midnight, exclusively on Apple Music, and debuted at number 7 on its Reggae Chart.
