This December the classic was re-released Praise Ye Jah of Sizzla and the producer Philip “Fate” Burrell, this in celebration of the number anniversary 25 from the album.
The reissue features remastered versions of classic songs such as “Dem a Wonder”, “Homeless” and the main song that gives the album its name.
According Dancehall Magazine, Praise Ye Jah is widely considered to be one of the defining works of Sizzla's prolific career, which followed Burning Up as the second album that combines his fresh singjay style with the radical vision of Fatis's record production.
Like many other releases under Fatis' Xterminator label, Praise Ye Jah broke with the lyrical laxity and production trends that drove dancehall in the 90, offering instead Rastafarian consciousness and riddims that renewed the sounds of roots reggae for the digital age.
This re-release was made by the XTM.Nation label, of Fatis's son, Kareem Burrell.
In an interview of 2021 con Entertainment Report Podcast , Sizzla remembered: “Fatis would be in the studio every day and night, twelve months of the year, 365 days (…) Fatis only lives in the studio, so you will have the opportunity to make many songs”.
