King Addies begins the tour of celebrations for their anniversary in Guyana 40

King Addies prepares to start a tour of several countries to celebrate 40 years of life dedicated to sound system culture and dancehall reggae.

The first stop of this anniversary tour will be this Saturday 7 from January, here in south america, at “Flashback: Old Skool Reggae Dancehall Party”, whose stage will be Guyana National Stadium, used mainly for the most popular sport in the country: cricket.

Considered the sound system number 1 from United States, King Addies will share the event with their Jamaican colleagues from Bass Odyssey.

One of the producers of the show, Andre Kellman, assured that “This year's Flashback is the most anticipated in Guyana and the buzz here is exciting”.

Flashback started as a local street party and has been, with this, 16 versions, although it will only be his second staging in the aforementioned Stadium, congregating more than 10,000 people each year, at regional and international level.

The tour will continue for a few Caribbean Islands, for North and Central America, Europe, Asia, United States and for the first time King Addies will visit Australia and Africa.

In 2022, King Addies made several important appearances such as at the private birthday party number 50 of Busta Rhymes; appearances on BBC1Xtra and Robbo Ranks Radio during his Autumn UK tour; on the anniversary 60 Jamaican independence, among several others.

Founded in Brooklyn, NY, in 1983, King Addies has been an integral and influential springboard for emerging Jamaican talent dating back to when mainstream radio around the world didn't play dancehall reggae.

King Addies' legacy also includes popularizing pop-up shows outside of Jamaica 90 as Sean Paul, Bounty Killer y Beenie Man, as well as a large number of artists who became legends of international music.

The father eton, owner of King Addies, highlighted the iconic legacy of this project that he spearheaded mostly behind the scenes.

“Forty years… wow! When we started with Addies, none of us imagined having 40 years. We just woke up every day and did what we loved.. I never knew that I would become respected and recognized all over the world., it is both a surprise and a pleasure. The Guyana show will be historic”, he highlighted.
