Gondwana and UB40 will bring reggae to the REC Festival

This weekend the ninth edition of the Festival REC (Rock in Conce) which includes two days of music of various styles and reggae will be present with two notable bands.

The first of them is Gondwana, the historic Chilean band with more than 35 years of history that popularized reggae in Chile at the end of the 90 and early 2000, which will be one of the highlights of the event whose presentation is scheduled for Sunday 24 March at 17:45 hours.

This presentation by the group from La Pincoya will be their farewell before start a tour of the north of the continent that will take them between March and June to Mexico, U.S, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama and Peru.

further, The band will arrive from the United Kingdom UB40 feat Ali Campbell, the faction of the group led by the historical singer of the group born in the years 80 in Birmingham that features hits like “Kingston Town”, “Red Red Wine” Y “Can’t Help Falling in Love”, among others.

Campbell left the original band in 2008 accusing at that time “intolerable management difficulties” and then keyboardist Michael Virtue and singer Astro joined him on the new project. Unfortunately Astro passed away after a brief illness in 2021.

The presentation of the British band is scheduled to 19:45 Sunday hours.

In addition to the mentioned, the festival, which will take place in the Bicentennial Park and in the Biobío Theater, It also includes the presentations of El Mató to a Motorized Police, Congress, A.N.I.M.A.L, Cami, Easykid, among others, in addition to The Bunkers, who joined the show as a replacement for Divididos, who left the event due to the injury of his bassist.
