The national scene meets at the Unidos por el Reggae Festival

It is Saturday 18 of April, the Anselmo Cádiz House of Culture from The Forest, will become the epicenter of United for Reggae Festival, an event that will bring together part of the Chilean reggae scene.

This event arises from the deep longing of the band Antunewen to bring together diverse emerging groups and provide spaces for interaction, generate community, dignify the work of musicians and artists, in addition to directing energy so that this genre has a new boom in Chilean society.

This meeting - which will have at least 7 hours of music– will bring together multiple bands, as Arbol, limelight, The Reggaeseros, Positive Neighborhood, Lepesauroots, Cruz Fight, Lafamiband, Kiske-Yah and of course also Antunewen.

​The day promises a tour of a wide range of reggae subgenres, also counting on the participation of Chakana Sound System Y Musifeminas in vinyl format.

The name 'United by Reggae'’ responds to the need to connect the local scene with each other plus embrace reggae artists who come from abroad in search of better opportunities, especially making Afro-descendant talents visible and promoting real inclusion that transcends borders”, Antnewen posed to Reggae Chalice Magazine regarding this festival.

Conversation and coordinates

“The idea of ​​this space is to reflect on the history of reggae in Chile, the challenges of self-management and, fundamentally, discuss strategies to dignify the work of musicians and make the scene more sustainable for artists and bands while respecting gender diversity, origin and culture”, complemented from Antnewen.

​The event will take place in a safe and familiar environment, with free entry, on the Anselmo Cádiz House of Culture, located in Great Avenue 12552, The forest, between the 13:00 and the 21:00 hours.
