Italian roots reggae: The Admirals lanza “When the Rain Falls”

The Italian reggae band The Admirals He released his new album at the end of April called When the Rain Falls, with which he takes a significant step in his exploration of conceptual roots reggae.

The album is the spiritual continuation of Sail for Tomorrow (2019), although it reverses its logic, because that album started from the community towards the individual, while When the Rain Falls does the reverse path: It starts from personal intimacy and expands towards a collective vision.

And here the question that articulates everything is direct: “When the rain falls… what do you do?”. Rain as a metaphor for the crisis, of the unpredictable, of the moments that force us to choose.

The album was preceded by the singles “Stand Firm” Y “Don’t You Go”, who already anticipated the tone: organic sounds, reflective letters, without concessions to ease.

A whole day in music

When the Rain Falls follows a narrative that takes place in one day. It opens with a serene morning that becomes cloudy, moves into the storm and closes under a clear night sky.

Instrumental tracks act as bridges, and environmental effects—by foley artist Matteo Brenko— build an atmosphere that makes the album something closer to a sound experience than a simple collection of songs.

Like all his previous projects, When the Rain Falls It is completely self-produced and is now available on all digital platforms.

From the second half of June, The album will also be available on double vinyl edition.
