For the second consecutive year, Puerto Montt and its surroundings were able to enjoy a new version of the “Reggae Festival & Culture: Bob Marley Day”, initiative that is carried out in commemoration of a new year of birth of the most important Reggae artist worldwide and that is celebrated every 6 February in all corners of the planet.

Twelve hours of Reggae was this year's bet, same place, in Metri, kilometer 30 of the Carretera Austral, where they met near 20 musicians on stage, Mc´s, bands and deejays, of which 15 They were artists from the southern zone and only five from other locations in the country, a fact that is no less important when precisely what is necessary is the opening of stages, promoting the representatives of Reggae and Dancehall in each area..

little more than 500 people came to participate in an extensive Saturday day of Reggae music, who were also able to enjoy other services present at the event such as a juggling workshop with displays of fires and torches at night; massages and shiatsu for the relaxation of attendees; crafts in Alerce -typical of the area-; sale of paintings made by “Imperial Producciones” that traveled from Melipilla; crafts made by the sisters of Stand Omega, vegan food and of course, an intimate talk about what Rastafari means and the projections of the work that the Rastafari brotherhood of Chile has planned for this and next year, exhibition by Ras Makuto.

Reggae Chalice participated in this event as a media partner and spoke with Claudio, by Wadada productions, the organizers of this festival, who shared with us a reflection on the development of this second version and its projections for next year.

“I am very happy with the result of this second version of the Southern Reggae Fest.&Culture. As event organizer, I gave everything to move Reggae music, I have been a music collector since 14 years and with so much insistence we managed to organize the first two versions. From next year we will move the festival to Concepción, our new city where we will reside as a vegan supermarket project and Wadada producer. Greetings to all the daughters and daughters of Rastafari the first spread throughout the ends of the Earth. Wadada for everyone”, concluded Claudio.

Did you know that… Wadada is a word in Amharic language that means LOVE.
