The new song of the Chilean group premieres this Friday 4 September in two versions, Spanish and English, both with the participation of the Jamaican Mykal Rose, the iconic voice of Black Uhuru. gondwana meets 33 years as one of the most recognized groups of the reggae genre in Spanish.
‘We Are The Lions’ is a song written by the leader of the band I-Locks Labbé, inspired by the consciousness and resistance of the Rastafarian culture. The bass player showed his demo toMykal Rose -voice of one of his referent bands such as Black Uhuru-, who wanted to collaborate making their own adaptation of the theme. That's why the new single will have two versions, one in Spanish with the collaboration of Mykal and the English version interpreted by the Jamaican.
The song was originally recorded at the Sonorámica studio in Córdoba, Argentina, by the prestigious engineerMariano Bilinkis (Catupecu Machu, the balls) and that he worked with the Chileans on their previous album 'Carpe Diem’ (2017). Before the declaration of the pandemic, the group had concerts announced in Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala and a tour of more than 30 cities across the United States, events that have been postponed until further notice. Even so, the group is already preparing for a virtual meeting, a concert via Streaming that will bring them together from their homes next 12 of September, event that had been initially scheduled for mid-August but was rescheduled due to technical problems.
