A weekend of celebrations. That is what will be experienced in Jamaica starting this Thursday with the celebrations for the 73rd birthday of one of the most influential and charismatic reggae artists., the great Peter Tosh.
The start of activities will be this Thursday, coinciding with the birth, with Peter Tosh Music Festival, whose poster will bring together renowned exponents, like the Queen of Reggae, Marcia Griffiths – who was also part of Bob Marley's backing vocal group & The Wailers, I-Threes-, the legendary Freddie McGregor, Peter's son, Andrew Tosh and Bob's son, Ky-Mani Marley.
The band that performed with Tosh will also reunite, Word, Sound and Power, who will support by scoring other performances with Tosh's music.
Tony Rebel, Luciano, Jesse Royal, Queen Afrika and Peter's grandchildren, Dre Tosh y Jahzarah Tosh, plus the special participation of Zak Starkey, son of Beatle Ringo Starr and drummer of The Who will join this party that will have a second night, on Sunday 22. Both events will take place at the Museum dedicated to the Bush Doctor.
The Festival will serve as the framework for the first annual Peter Tosh Awards, to recognize those who contribute or have contributed significantly to promoting the objectives of activism Peter during his life and career.
