The Chamber of Deputies reviewed Senate amendments to the project that improves the prosecution of drug trafficking and organized crime, known as project “anti-narcotics”, and sent the initiative to a mixed commission that will finally define several aspects included in the regulations.
In this instance, norms linked to the differentiation of substances for trafficking or personal consumption and the medicinal cultivation of cannabis due to the discrepancies that arose between both chambers of Congress.
In that sense, The Senate previously rejected two key aspects such as self-cultivation for medicinal use and the rule that decriminalized self-cultivation of up to 5 plants, holding up to 500 grams and the size of 40 grams, indications entered into the Public Safety commission of the Upper House.
Thus, it will be the mixed commission that finally defines these provisions and then they will have to be ratified by both Chambers.
