The Magellanic reggae band Aponküyen just released his first album called Attentive, which is available on all digital platforms.
The grouping, with 10 years of experience, presented this production live last 18 july 1st at Italian Circle, in Punta Arenas, in a show that brought together guests such as Nekki, Boomer, Kutral Dub and Tomy Di.
The disc includes 10 songs on digital platforms and an additional song in its physical edition.
Production was in charge of Kutral Dub, renowned producer of the national reggae scene and also has collaborations with guest musicians such as Paulina Derpic, Maxi Asher (Maximiliano Muñoz), Bigtouch (Victor Jimenez) and Ema Music (Emanuelle Valencia).
“This album is resistance”
The band explained that this work is “resistance”, while the name of the album responds to a call to observe the environment, take care of childhoods, act with empathy and maintain coherence between what you think, it is said and done.
“This album is resistance, This is what the letters reflect, and is born from the conviction that music always mobilizes us. We want those who listen to it to feel the Patagonian strength and identity.”, the band stated to Reggae Chalice Magazine.

They add that the reception of the album has been “exciting” and that “Every purchase of the physical album and every digital play strengthens this dream.” and they also highlighted precisely the physical version of the album that arouses a common reaction that it is a work “old fashioned”.

The proposal
Their proposal combines roots reggae with Magellan rock influences, in an album that also includes a tribute to Víctor Jara with his classic “The Departure”.
Aponküyen, whose name in Mapudungun means “Full moon”, is led by Pablo Alarcon, known artistically as “Pablo in Tranquility”, lead vocal of the band that took shape in 2016.
In addition, they integrate it Diana Diaz on bass and vocals; Vicente Paredes and Andrés Narváez on guitars; Jonathan Delgado on percussion; and Felipe Kimey on battery.
