10Anniversary of Reggae in Motion: reggae music and self

In mid-November the port of Valparaiso dresses reggae once again to celebrate the tenth anniversary of "Reggae on the Move", initiative organized by the Gama Rocuant Cultural Center, which has established itself as a space for the promotion of reggae and other musical genres in the fifth region.

Born in 2011, after touring different clubs in the city, in the year 2013 decide to establish the Reggae in Motion Festival in public spaces, facilitating access and participation of the community in a day where reggae converges with other styles of black music in the area, a family event, free, located in a neuralgic point of the city.

As expressed by the organization, The tenth edition of this festival “represents the consolidation of an initiative inspired by values ​​of collaboration and reciprocity between organizations, artists and the community in general, in the search for the positioning of art as a fundamental factor in the processes of emancipation of peoples”.

Scheduled for Saturday 17 of November, The event will take place from 15 hours and until 22, in the Civic Plaza of Valparaíso. The contest confirmed the participation of RR Burning, Batucada Kellun, Essential Root, Nicoll Rossetti and the band Afora from the region; 12 tribes, Daniela Millaleo, and Nattybwoy and band Sonido de Raíces from Santiago.

Seven years of festival in the port, For the first time the contest will be co-financed with the municipal Culture Fund FICVAL 2018.
