the national singer Quique Neira resumed the premieres of unreleased songs with the recent release “The King of Networks”, the first cut from his next album The Reguero.
Coinciding with International Reggae Day, the 1 of July, The Chilean artist presented this song that is a call to attention to the toxic use of social networks.
“(The song) It is a reflection regarding the use and abuse of networks. They can be given a positive approach, how to promote a job, as in my case and that of many artists, but it is also fertile ground for other less altruistic activities.. Egos advertising each other like crazy, idle people hating anyone who is pushing any idea, many others showing off, or people faking lifestyles they simply don't have”, says the singer-songwriter.
The new album on the way
The song is also the first preview of his upcoming album called The Reguero, with which the interpreter of “Good things” returns with unreleased songs, since his latest productions such as Cover Me (2018) Y Cover Me Again (2021) They were remakes of great musical hits like “Guilty or not”, “Forgive me” O “Son of the Luminous Sun”.
According to the musician, During the pandemic years he dedicated himself to composing around 30 songs, 10 of which were selected for this new album that will be available to the public in the coming months.
“I deeply love each of the 10 songs from this album. And each one is a story that involves some semi-magical event., of everyday miracles, of half inexplicable situations, that resulted in a melody, a text, a concept. I wrote them in the middle of the pandemic, full of concerns and questions, how it happened to all of us. In the midst of a scenario of so much uncertainty I received the insistent visit of the muses”, Neira stated.
“I wrote almost 30 songs and I chose 10 that seemed to me to be part of the same concept. This new album has a lot of energy, There's a lot of my own life in it and for the time we were living, I played many of the instruments since many times I could not summon the band musicians”, the singer emphasized.
