“We were going to celebrate our anniversary 20 in december 2019 and the social outbreak just came so we decided to postpone it until March 2020 and that's where the pandemic began, so we suspended it permanently”, explained to Reggae Chalice Matthias Malinarich, guitarist of the group.
The group member added that “At that minute we decided to pause the band a little.. Were 20 uninterrupted years of working, rehearsing, composing, meetings, So we decided to take an indefinite break. while the matter was being settled, each one saw how they did it to see their life, because it was not very easy for people in the cultural area”.
For the same, This event will mark Kitra's return to live performances., who has participated since the beginning of the Population Tour.
“Our friends from the Population Tour wanted to do the 20 years of the tour and they asked us to be part. We have been there since the first tours, I think from the third. We talked about it and decided to get together to rehearse and do that show that is very meaningful to us.”, Malinarich emphasized.
Regarding this return, the guitarist left the door open for new things, although at the moment there are no definitions about the future of the band.
“Kitra never ended, but it was a little frozen, We have not decided how to move forward with the project either.. We have some plans for some things in the studio and some things for’ in front of, but We haven't defined anything because we are digesting this thing about getting back together.”, he concluded.
Soweto will also represent reggae in the Population Tour
From the world of reggae the band will also be present on this tour Soweto, who is also experiencing a return to the stage this year after an extensive break, although in this case it was a parenthesis of 20 years.
