Chilean reggae singer, Jimmy Rivas, He recently released his second album called Dunamis, a trip of 17 songs that seek to bring light and hope in difficult and dark times.
The artist commented to Reggae Chalice Magazine who began working on this production since the year 2018, a creation crossed by the pandemic that led him to find the concept “Dunamis”, a Greek word that means “power” and that directed the direction of this album.
“In that difficult stage my faith in God was key and I felt like a personal mission the duty of making a more spiritual album focused on introspective lyrics.” (…) Spiritually it has a deep meaning, which is being enabled with divine power to resist bad times and thus emerge victorious.”, Rivas stated.

In their 20 years of experience Jimmy Rivas has been characterized by creating music that is crossed by personal experiences, love, spirituality, seeking to deliver conscious messages, self reflections and also social criticism.
This new album brings all that together in romantic and entertaining songs., but “The main mission is to bring light and hope in times of great darkness.”, the singer assured about Dunamis.
Collaborations
This album is also distinguished by its collaborations, because of the 17 songs that make it up, 10 include the participation of national and international artists from countries such as U.S, Brazil, Peru, Colombia and Puerto Rico.
Singers like Maxi Vargas, Lela Costa, Nick Sefakis, Rik Jam and Gomba Jahbari are some of the artists who participated in this plate.
“The video for the song 'Jah Loves Me’ It was originally going to be recorded in Jamaica., but due to the pandemic I was left with the tickets in hand“, Rivas says between laughs, adding that with each singer there is respect, mutual admiration and motivation.
