Hasta el próximo 10 of August estarán abiertas las votaciones para la cuarta edición de los Caribbean Music Awards 2026, cuyas nominaciones se conocieron hace algunos días.
La lista para esta edición incluye a más de 250 artists in more than 40 categorías que abarcan reggae, dancehall, soca, calypso, R&B y gospel.
La nominación más destacada de la noche recayó en la trinitense Lady Lava, quien lidera con nueve nominaciones en siete categorías.
Le siguen el artista jamaicano emergente Ayetian, the “Rey del Soca” Machel Montano y la soquista granadina V’ghn, cada uno con siete nominaciones.
While, Shenseea Y Skillibeng consiguieron seis nominaciones cada uno, while Masicka, Popcaan, Valiant, Vybz Kartel Y Yung Bredda recibieron cinco cada uno.
Otro grupo de fuertes contendientes con cuatro nominaciones incluye a Full Blown, Jesse Royal, Joé Dwèt Filé, Who, Lila Iké, Lola Doll, Mical Teja, Mikado Y Voice.
Reggae: Keznamdi y Chronixx, los grandes favoritos
En el ámbito del reggae, Keznamdi Y Chronixx se ubican como los favoritos en la categoría “Álbum del Año”.
Keznamdi llega como flamante Grammy winner 2026 al Mejor Álbum de Reggae por Blxxd & Fyah, while Exile de Chronixx fue coronado por Billboard como el mejor álbum caribeño de 2025.
También compiten en esta categoría Glen Washington (Feeling Irie); Sanchez (Jamdown); Jesse Royal (No Place Like Home); Lila Iké (Treasure Self Love) Y Duane Stephenson (Weekend Dude)

At the same time, la canción más nominada de la noche fue “Shake It to the Max”, of Moliy with Shenseea, Disco Neil, Silent Addy Y Skillibeng.
The topic, who reached the position 44 del Billboard Hot 100, llega con tres nominaciones tras haber sido declarado inelegible para competir en los Grammy de febrero pasado, una decisión que generó fuertes críticas dentro de la industria.
