The Magellanic band Reggae Crucible will close this Friday 8 of May a cycle of 4 shows in which they are presenting their new proposal Music to Resist, on this occasion in the New Holliday Restobar of Punta Arenas.
According to the group, Music to Resist It is not an album release in the traditional sense, but a live presentation format, with 8 musicians on stage: lead vocal, two choirs, two electric guitars, low, drums, keyboards, plus wind section (trombon, saxophone and trumpet).
“We perceive that, for many people, The current scenario is becoming increasingly complex: the cost of living increases, There is a feeling of uncertainty and, in many cases, of disconnection with those who make decisions. In the midst of that context, our music seeks to be a vital provision to go through that path”, the group commented to Reggae Chalice Magazine regarding this format.
The band emphasized that their music is “by author”, that is to say, “original, honest and direct, that can genuinely connect with the listener, which in real life translates into a reflective and conscious experience, but at the same time mobilizes, drives to act, to feel and also to celebrate, even from the dance”.
The repertoire
The repertoire combines songs already available on digital platforms -as “True Love” Y “Your Victory”- along with topics of his latest EP (“First thing”, “Weight of Glory”, “Get to know him” Y “The Ship”).
To them are added up to 9 unpublished songs, so the only way to access these compositions is through the live experience, giving a unique and special character to each presentation.
“In parallel, We are working on the production of a new album that we hope to publish this year., where these new songs can also take shape on a studio record”, added the band.
About the group's projections, Music to resist is being developed locally in Punta Arenas, with projections to other cities in the region such as Puerto Natales and Porvenir and in the medium term the intention is to take this format to other parts of the country and eventually abroad..
