The Reggaes is the name of the project promoted by musicians Yerko Muñoz and Diego Contreras, both ex12Tribes, who has just released his first song, the song “Release” with Zuraka vocalist, Max Cruchaga, this as part of the riddim “One Drop”.
According to its members, This riddim will have two other versions in the short term and that the idea of this song was to do it with someone from the new generation of national reggae.
“We had this song in the pipeline and we wanted to do it in collaboration with someone who was from the new generation of Chilean reggae artists., We met Max a while ago and the connection was excellent, We invited him to collaborate and he accepted very enthusiastically. as, according to his words, 'He listened to us many years ago when we played with 12 the tribe. That fills us with pride”, Muñoz and Contreras said to Reggae Chalice.
further, they added that “We have always had the concern of contributing artistically to the local scene, the desire to compose music has always been, has been our driving force for almost 25 years working together”.
After the separation of 12 Tribus surge The Reggaes con Yerko (bass player) and Diego (drummer), whose idea is to continue composing music while they are part of the Tiano Bless band and support other groups, as they have done until now, like with Gabriel Raíces, Michel Soriano, Pozoul, Jimmy Rivas y Andes Reggae, among other.
“The reggaes project was born from the need to formalize something we have been doing many years ago: be the Drum and Bass support for several artists on the sceneand also compose and produce our own music. We have the necessary experience to compose, produce, be the support of a national or international artist who requires experienced drum and bass, especially in the reggae genre and its derivatives”, the musicians expressed.
Regarding its long-term projections, the intention is “continue composing new music and produce artists that require this powerful drum and bass. Probably in the future we will put together a show with the new songs and even include some of our own that we played with. 12 tribes”, they concluded.
