The Reggae Sumfest, one of the most important in Jamaica, will pay tribute to the recently deceased singer Fantan Mojah.
The event called A Taste of Reggae Sumfest will be done the Saturday 18 july 1st in Plantation Cove, St. Ann.
The artist, whose death occurred on 14 july 1st, to the 49 years, He performed for the last time on stage at Sumfest in 2025, in what was one of his most memorable presentations in recent years.

“He was a true reggae soldier”
Joe Bogdanovich, CEO of Reggae Sumfest and who was also the producer who discovered Fantan as a young window cleaner in St. Elizabeth, head the tribute with direct words.
“Fantan Mojah was a true reggae soldier. His lyrics had purpose, His performances were genuine and his commitment to uplifting people through music never wavered.”, said the businessman to Jamaica Observer.
Bogdanovich stressed that “We are deeply saddened by his departure., and the 18 July we will honor his life, his art and the lasting impact he left on reggae and the Sumfest family. His spirit will be part of our stage forever”.
A farewell on the stage that saw him grow
The tribute is part of the evening's program, open to fans, reggae artists and community.
It will be an emotional way to close the circle, the same scenario that welcomed him in life, saying goodbye with his music.
Family reports violation of social networks
The singer's family and his representation team denounced that the Gmail and Instagram accounts of Fantan Mojah were violated and are not under their control
“Any message, publication, application or other communication coming from these accounts should not be considered official. The public is strongly advised not to respond, send money, provide personal information, click on links or follow any instructions received through such compromised accounts”, expressed in a public statement.
They added that they are taking the appropriate measures to secure and recover the accounts and that for the moment all official information will be communicated directly through the authorized representatives of the family and representation..
“We ask everyone to remain vigilant and ignore any suspicious communications claiming to come from Fantan Mojah or act on behalf of your estate, family or management team”, concludes the statement.
