One riddim: Balaguero's vast catalog of international participations

He had been presenting several musical productions in recent years, but the quarantine contributed to Balaguero, long-standing national artist, these days he is positioned as the Chilean singer with the highest number of productions at an international level participating in riddims produced in Jamaica, Mexico, and Chile, to name a few.

Counting, Throughout his career Balaguero has been part of 19 works by various artists on a rhythm, or “One Riddim” as this format is called, where different artists record their own version under the same rhythm.. Of that total, eight of them have been produced in Chile and eleven internationally. Definitely, a statistic you are proud of.

In conversation with Reggae Chalice, the singer-songwriter expressed that the time in quarantine "has been too productive, All this time has allowed me to advance in several pending and focus on new projects as well, I have written and recorded many songs, most of them are already in the hands of the producers to see the light in a while ".

If we go into more detail, of the 11 international works six of them were produced in Jamaica. The dream of many Reggae and Dancehall artists worldwide is, partly, participate in any production and / or collaboration with Jamaica. Balaguero has advanced on this path in a mostly Anglo market and very difficult to penetrate.

"It is certainly special, every door that opens from Jamaica is an achievement for me, both with artists and producers, I think it is the dream of every Reggae artist to be produced there and even better if it is part of productions with renowned artists, it is a pride for me ", commented.

Working like a little ant and in silence, the formula that has given great fruit to the Chilean and that today he sees how little by little he is reaping the achievements of this work, which has also been linked to the role of radio announcer, project in which he has been working the last 3 years -from April 2017- under the name of "Reggae Es Vida Radio" and that has allowed him to connect with many artists and producers from different parts of the world..

Asked about his role as radio announcer, Balaguero said that this process “has been entertaining and very learning, it is a new world of communications and I have been taking more and more taste, I enjoy it and I love doing it ”. He added that “REVR has allowed different artists and producers to learn about my artistic work, although it is not something that I looked for, I feel that time was putting everything in its place ".

And just as every Monday he faces his own fears and challenges, mainly because of the language, since many of your interviewees have been artists from Jamaica, and then because the complete realization of the program is now done only by him. A complex self-management job but with many satisfactions.

Returning to his artistic side, Balaguero has in the folder the launch of his seventh album "10", the one who according to commented to Reggae Chalice is ready and hopes to present it to the public before the end of the year. He is also preparing an EP, while he continues to release new singles in the remainder of the year in which some international combinations are coming that he keeps in reserve, generating the corresponding suspense.

Without going further, next week is scheduled to launch "Eres Todo", his version of "Journey Man Riddim", a production of several artists from Jamaica and where again he is the only Latin artist to participate in it and which will be available on their digital platforms on 15 of July.
