La producción del International Reggae Day (WRITE, por en sus siglas en inglés) announced that the official theme for 2026 celebrations will be “One Love”, renewing the focus on one of reggae's most enduring messages that was previously used in 2021.
“Reggae has its roots in ‘One Love’. Return to this topic to 2026 It is an opportunity to refocus on the universal message of reggae in these difficult times”, said the IRD producers.
Like every year, on 1 July 1st several activities will be carried out in Jamaica and around the world as well as an activation of digital platforms.
The organization of the event called on reggae lovers “to wear the colors of reggae on 1 july 1st, to spread the music on all platforms during the 24 hours of celebrations and planting a reggae tree”.
The International Reggae Day is celebrated annually on 1 July 1st from 1994 to commemorate the legacy of Jamaican music and its global cultural impact.
This celebration of 24 hours pays tribute to the role of reggae in spreading messages of love, Justice, peace and unity, as well as the legacy of Jamaican musical culture.
