The renowned DJ of the national reggae scene, Thoughtful, starred in one of the episodes of Lively Mix what does Marley Coffee, a space where the popular coffee brand invites DJs of different styles for a live session.
In this episode, Thoughtful DJ makes a fine selection of reggae and dancehall classics.
“Reggae was the music that introduced me to the world of DJing and dancehall was included in the style. and that's what I hear all the time. I like both genres, from the oldest to what came out today.”, commented Thoughtful a Reggae Chalice about the session.
The pioneering DJ in the reggae scene said regarding the selection that “In the most Roots part of this mix there are songs that mark several stories and beautiful moments of my life like Don't get scared’, of Morgan Heritage, that as soon as I hear it it takes me to my land, The Angels, on the banks of a river, under a willow, smoking ganjah with my cousin and some friends”.
“Not to mention ‘Tenament Yard’, of Jacob Miller, that takes me to those micro trips heading to the rehearsal with the Tanaka brothers, but nevertheless, the session begins with a great song, almost anthem of life, ‘Firm and Strong‘ of Popcaan, a song that I like a lot. Later I went to the 'vacilon', with their afros and the dancehall songs I'm hearing”, Pensive emphasized.
