A work that changed the rules

In February of 1995, Massive Attack invited Neil Fraser—his real name—to deconstruct Protection from the dub. What resulted was No Protection, an album that took the dark sound of Bristol and ran it through echo techniques, reverb and deep bass that Mad Professor had perfected in his studio Yes Sounds in south london.

The result was not a simple remix, was a complete reimagining that merged two worlds that until then they had barely touched each other: British trip hop and Jamaican roots dub.

“Radiation Ruling the Nation” and “Karmacoma” They are two of the most recognizable moments of that work, and they will be at the show.

Four decades of history

Mad Professor has been at the forefront of dub and musical production for more than four decades. From Ariwa Sounds, founded in 1979, produced and worked with figures such as Lee “Scratch” Perry, Sade and Depeche Mode, consolidating itself as one of the fundamental names of the genre at a global level.

Their live proposal is an immersion in sound, with layers of dub, real-time effects and a physicality of the bass that generates a vibration that is difficult to find on Chilean stages.
