Make 9 years that develops in our country Quenn Chile Dancehall competition and this is no exception. The surprise that the DHQ brings us 2016 is that for the first time the King category will be included in this competition that annually crowns the best Dancehall dancer, and it will take place on Wednesday 30, a jamming club.
The organizations “DancehallQueen Chile” and “B-Fox Dancehall Center” unified efforts and in a strategic alliance will officially begin the first “DancehallKing Chile Competition”, event that from now on will be promoted by both organizations during the coming years.
In conversation with Chalice Reggae, the founder and organizer of DHQ Chile, Souling Labbe, He referred to this new alliance and said that “teamwork motivates me.”, that we can empower ourselves to create new ideas. It also motivates me that other people make space and meetings for this community”.
The competition will take place in two categories, Queens & Kings (women and men), who will compete for the throne to the best exponent. Participants will be evaluated by a high-level jury, composed of Lady Stephy, Shake Shake DHQ y Global Bob, world-renowned Jamaican dancer, those who will be in charge of electing the DHQ and the DHK 2016.
Regarding the evolution that this contest has had in its arduous nine-year journey of constant work and organization, mistakes and learning, Its organizer tells us that in perspective of what will be the tenth anniversary, The objectives have been met step by step.
“I feel like I'm achieving my goal.. Every year energy is cleaner. I gave it structure, Over time I added body and in recent years I have been giving it soul.. I hope to continue providing this space to the community of dancehall dancers where everyone feels part without prejudice., without envy, without selfishness", concluded Souling Labbé.
The invitation is for this Wednesday 30 of March, from 23:30 hours, a jamming club, located in Antonia López de Bello 49, Bellavista neighborhood. General admission will cost $3.000. The opening includes the presentation of Editzz DHQ, the winner of the contest 2015, will feature the musical selection of DJ Pensativo, and with animation by Bobby R and MaialeM.
