further, the group presented their latest single live for the first time “My People” and then continued with another set of greatest hits like “Let's go with Faith”, “We are few”, “False Teachers” Y “Liberty”, to conclude his presentation at about 23:30 hours.

The mestizo reggae of Laguna Pai

This presentation is the fifth they have made in Chile after having participated in two Surfests in Pichilemu, in addition to a Fiis Festival and another in Cachagua.

In conversation with Reggae Chalice in advance of its presentation, the band defined its musical style as “mestizo reggae”, obviously with influences from Jamaica and also from Latin America.

“I like to define it as mixed reggae, It's a reggae rock, that it has some pop, some blues, It is literally a mixed reggae”, they say Mariano, the video also breaks new ground by having both groups, Y Salo Langberg, guitarist.

“We have Latin music influences, in my case of Manu Chao, Bob Marley, in the sound of the voice. In terms of content, I think Bob Marley is one of my greatest references for writing songs., but it's not the only one, because in the end the references are like a summary of common personal tastes”, Mariano expressed.

We listen to everything, that is, we also listen to rock, I like the blues, but we always return to reggae”, Salo said..

The future

As for the future, Lagun Pai is preparing a new album that will possibly be released next year and the band sees an auspicious future for reggae.

“We have our proposal in fact with great respect for reggae as a genre., with a lot of respect where it comes from. We make a mixed reggae, we do our style, it's our sound, In fact, we have always sought to have our proposal, be a sound, particular, authentic, very sincere and I believe that reggae will continue to sound more and more”, expressed Mariano Palacios.

“I think reggae is a type of music that when done with that intention, when done with good intention, It can be very important, It can spread very beautiful things like it did with us.. It captivated me and I believe that we can all do the same.”, he concluded.

The Visiones tour will continue in Argentina, with shows in Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires and then in Montevideo, capital of Uruguay.
