Kameleba reverses a classic by Charly García and Pedro Aznar

  • In a tribute to national rock, The band performs “Tu Amor” in the key of Reggae.

With 20 years of experience on Argentine and Latin American stages, The trans-Andean band Kameleba presented their new single “Tu Amor”, a reinterpretation of the Argentine rock classic composed by Charly García and Pedro Aznar now in a Reggae version.

The single is the group's first release after they published their fifth studio album “El Presente Que Soñamos.”, production that was chosen among the 10 best national reggae albums 2019 by Cool Ruler Magazine.

“It's a song that I personally always liked and that strikes a chord, sensitizes you. Charly García and Pedro Aznar are two legends of Argentine rock and have become references for any musician., no matter what style you do. When we took it to the studio the whole band agreed on the same thing and the result was this version, which has the audio we were looking for thanks to the work of Hernán Sforzini who, in addition to being one of the best positioned producers today, "He has been a friend for many years.", said Jorge “Pepo” Reynoso, voice and guitar of the band.

Recorded by Martín Quinzio under the artistic production of Kameleba, “Tu Amor” stands out for having been mixed and mastered at Afro Recording Studios (Lanus, Buenos Aires) by Facundo Jara and Hernán Sforzini, Prominent musician on the international reggae scene and producer nominated for a Grammy in the “Best Reggae Album” category for his work with Sly&Robbie and Roots Radics along with other great legends of Jamaican music.

“With Hernán we have a friendship that has lasted for several years. He was our percussionist in shows in Argentina and on tours we did in Mexico and other countries.. For this song we were looking for an audio faithful to the reggae style and we already had the experience of having recorded with him when we made the version of “El Activista”, with Raly Barrionuevo. That background and Camel's experience alongside world leaders of the style made us make the decision to work on this single with him.", commented Lionel Folch, bassist and founding member of the group.

Kameleba's new single is now available on all digital platforms.
