The next 5 and 6 of September the chilean capital, Santiago, will host the second local version of the international dancehall event “Queens on Top Chile”, a two-day meeting that will bring together national and international dancers in various activities.
This edition will include workshops, a party and a competition that will have as a prize a place in the main dancehall event in Jamaica, the “Queens of the Mecca 2027”, to be held between the 8 and 9 from January next.
The event will be attended by prominent international figures, like Jamaican dancers DHQ Danger, Pinky Tallawah, Nothing OG; the british On your tongue and DHQ Chile 2023, rubber girl, who will teach intensive classes during the two days.
“Perform the 'Queens on Top’ in opens up the possibility of direct contact with Jamaica, an international competition that It opens space for us on a professional level for the rest of the world and, what is the second version like?, It means the positive of our work and the level of our Dancehall Queens”, they expressed from Dancehall Vybz, who organize this event in Chile, a Reggae Chalice Magazine.
According to the schedule, The Saturday session will begin at 10:00 hours with accreditations and will continue with Pandimi classes, DHQ Danger and Rubber Girl. Then, from 18:30 hours, the aforementioned dance competition will be held, that in addition to the quota for the contest, also includes a week's stay at Belle House as a prize for the winner.
After the competition, a party will be held that will have an important female presence in the knobs with Musifemin, Carabalí and Jadeable, in addition to Revoll King Kong and Galo Green.
Sunday and prices
While, on Sunday, from 12:00 hours, workshops will be held Pinky Tallawah and Nothing OG, to complete this event.
The second local version of “Queens on Top Chile” will take place in the Mambo Hall, located in San Francisco 668, and the ticket for the competition and party on Saturday cuesta $8.000.
The organization also emphasized the importance of this second version of the event, the first was carried out in 2024, to promote the local scene.
“We hope to reach the entire dancehall community, both dancers and those who enjoy parties, raise awareness of this competition at a national level and that more girls are motivated to compete and enjoy the workshops”, recalcaron.
