Eight years of constant work under his digital radio and TV program 100% Pure Reggae has brought its fruits on the path of Mariano Tassara, better known as MT Dread. The Argentine communicator becomes the first Latino to participate in an initiative promoted by the iconic label Trojan, with his own playlist on the reggae label's digital platforms, which is called “This Is Trojan”.
In conversation with Reggae Chalice, MT Dread said that “the invitation was made through an Italian agency that handles many Reggae artists from all over the world., including the well known Mellow Mood, call Run it Agency. The people of Trojan Records asked them for a recommendation from a Latin American medium and we were lucky to be chosen ".
A) Yes, MT Dread is the first Latino to have his own music list under Trojan, initiative that is promoting the label for its Spotify accounts, Deezer y Apple Music, where different guests make their selection of 20 songs from the historic Trojan catalog. Other names that have participated in Trojan playlists They are the German magazine Riddim Mag, Italian duo Mellow Mood, Jesse Royal, Naomi Cowan, Suns of Dub, and Skip Marley, to name a few. The most recent is the top 20 from MT Dread released in mid-May.
“Choosing the songs was the hardest part of all because we had to choose the best ones 20 songs at our discretion from the entire history of Trojan and it became quite a challenge for what it entails only 20 of many on the list ", MT Dread said and added that this invitation “is a gift to the soul because, like you and the whole world reggae scene, getting under the radar of this record label and what it represents for the history of reggae is something that I still can't believe., but at the same time it is a caress to all the great effort of many years of work spreading reggae in Argentina and also global reggae ", the Argentine communicator finished.
