The Burnin Album’ received gold certification in the United Kingdom

Although time passes, His influence continues. Burnin’, the album that The Wailers launched in 1973 with Island Records, just received gold certification from the BPI (British Phonographic Industry) at UK, surpassing the 100.000 equivalent units in that market.

Burnin’ It was the sixth and last album to reunite the three founders of the Wailers.: Bob Marley, Peter Tosh Y Bunny Wailer.

There are immortal classics like “Get Up, Stand Up” Y “I Shot the Sheriff”, two of the most influential songs in reggae history. It was precisely “I Shot the Sheriff” the one that Eric Clapton versioned the following year, bringing Marley's name to the international mainstream for the first time.

A validity that does not stop

Certification is not just a number, It is confirmation that the catalog of The Wailers and also Bob Marley continues to grow in real consumption, decades after his death.

The BPI measures its certifications by combining physical sales, digital and equivalent streams according to the parameters of The Official Charts Company, which means there is a new generation listening Burnin’ hoy, on digital platforms, and making it count.

It is not the first recent recognition of the Marley catalog in the United Kingdom. In 2024, “Stir It Up” also reached gold in that same market.
