Activities continue to go to the aid of Jamaica after the passage of Hurricane Melissa

After the devastating passage of Hurricane Melissa a few weeks ago, Jamaica continues to go through one of the most difficult times of its history due to significant damage to public infrastructure, buildings, housing, schools, in much of the island.

Thus, from Chile, different groups, Collectives and various bodies are coming together to help the Jamaican communities most affected by this meteorological event..

Unity by Jamaica

One of them is “Unity for Jamaica”, a cultural soundsystem that this Saturday 22 November in Talca, in the Maule Region, in a day organized by the crew Unity Sound System which will feature local artists such as Congrats, Rustiko and Hi Fi Vibration and will have as guests Last Rock, Anblessnabi, Javi del Viento and Engel One Love.

The day will begin at 16:00 hours in the Hawen Space, located on avenue Striped Court 101, and will have raffles with various prizes to raise funds for Jamaican communities.

Dancehall x Jamaica

Another event is “Dancehall x Jamaica”, a class to benefit Jamaica that will provide King Kong Dancehall, that will send all the money raised directly to the island.

The activity will take place this Saturday 22 November at 17:00 hours in Sazié 1285, in the center of Santiago, And it costs $5.000.

Together x Jamaica

Another way to contribute to the cause is by purchasing raffle numbers “Together x Jamaica” organized by different artists such as Ghetto Life Music, Zhelo Beats y Tuty Pretty Vbz.

More than 10 prizes and the value of each number is $3.000, All money raised will be sent to Jamaica through the efforts of Tuty Pretty Vbz, Chilean cultural manager. You can review all the information to buy numbers through their social networks.

Finally, Fundraising organized by different Chilean Rastafarian organizations such as Empress Menen Asfaw Foundation, La Cimarra Bookstore Y Rastafarian Nyahbinghi Vigilant, whose money raised will be sent to Jamaica, through the Money Gram system.

Each contribution, however minimal, serves to accompany, empathize and help lift up Jamaican communities in need after this terrible tragedy.
