The African Cup of Nations is the most important football competition on the continent and its next edition - the 34th- will take place between January and February 2024 in Ivory Coast.
And the person in charge of providing music for the tournament was the reggae singer Alpha Blondy who released the official song called a few days ago “He hears”, that means “Hola” in Beté language, one of the many dialects spoken in the African nation.
The song features the participation of other artists such as Didi. B, Roseline Layo and Soum Bill, in addition to Didier Drogba, the most important Ivorian footballer in history, twice awarded with the “Golden Ball”.
As Blondy himself describes, the subject is “an intelligent mix of four musical universes” As the Reggae, the rap, African Music and the Zouglou, and with him “seeks to create magic and thrill” to the visitors who will come to the country to witness the competition.
