Cultura Profética wins its first Latin Grammy after 24 years of experience

Happy and with an endless smile, the Puerto Rican band Cultura Profética showed up on their social networks, who on the verge of completing a quarter of an uninterrupted century in Reggae music fused with Latin American rhythms, they have just been awarded the Latin Grammy for their most recent production "Sobrevolando".

A deserved accolade for the band from Puerto Rico. Throughout its already extensive career, the group reached the Latin Grammys with a history of 8 albums and an undeniable recognition in the region when talking about Reggae in Spanish. A fair winner if it is also taken into consideration that the Latin American edition of the Grammys does not recognize Reggae as an individual category., the Puerto Ricans were nominated and awarded the gramophone for Best Alternative Music Album.

Late september, after knowing your nomination, the group published on its instagram account that “they had to pass 24 years for this independent band to be able to stand out in the industry alongside artists who are the same age as the project. And that confirms that what we have made is art that is not governed by time and is projected above trends. This is why we think it's great to have been nominated in alternative categories because we always feel like "the good alternative."

With almost a quarter of a century to his credit as an independent project under his record label "La Mafafa", Prophetic Culture launched in late 2019 "Flying over", Disc of 15 songs that captivated their fans with a difficult mission after their previous work, "Sweetness", what in 2010 he reached all corners of the region with unforgettable songs like "La Complicidad", "Top to bottom" or "Lower tension".

The band composed by Willy Rodríguez (voice and bass), Omar Silva (guitar and bass), Juan Carlos Sulsona (keyboard), and Elliut González (guitar) continues his way facing the 2021 with this great achievement that adds to the vast catalog of classics that you can listen to on all its digital platforms.
