After two years of global freezing due to the COVID pandemic 19, little by little the culture and music are reactivated, one of the segments hardest hit by the pandemic, sector that just a month ago has again been able to resume live musical presentations, with limited capacity and certain restrictions for attendees in closed spaces.
This is how hand in hand with musical shows, another good news has been announced by social networks during the month of October, and it's the return of dancehall workshops or live classes, with exponents of Jamaican culture who will finally be able to return to the country after so much inactivity and uncertainty in the world.
Cosmic Elite is the name of the Jamaican dancer who arrives in Chile in the next few days, who during their stay will travel the country with classes in different northern cities, center and south, event that organizes Dancehall Vybz, the pair of Chilean teachers Revoll and Tuty Pretty Vybz, as are their pseudonyms.
In conversation with Reggae Chalice, Maureen Oyarzún, aka Tuty Pretty Vybz, highlighted the relevance of this event “since in Chile we have several Dancehall teachers who have traveled to Jamaica and they communicate to their students the importance of taking classes with our teachers directly from Jamaica, In other words, there is a custom for teachers to come from Jamaica since the 2014 to teach us and this would be the first after two years of pandemic, more on top with tremendous exponent ".
For dancehall lovers and also for those who do not know Cosmic Elite in detail, the dancer is characterized by his style focused on the killah, gun and movements hardcore, "It also has others with high vibes and flow", Tuty commented, adding that some of his movements are known throughout the world almost 10 years. “He is a very important and legendary dancer in life since middle school for all of us who love this Dancehall culture ".
Much is always questioned about the centralism and concentration of reggae dancehall events in Santiago, the capital of Chile, but this time, and as in few events, the Elite Team lead dancer will teach classes in Iquique, Antofagasta, Conception Y Punta Arenas, in addition to his passage through Santiago.
“We as Dancehall Vybz have dedicated ourselves from the beginning of our careers as Dancehall guides to decentralizing dancehall.. Although we teach most of our classes in Santiago, we are traveling all year round through different regions doing classes (…) With the Cosmic tour in Chile we want to achieve the same, that people from other cities have the opportunity to take a workshop at a normal price and not double or triple ", explained Tuty.
Cosmic Elite begins its tour of Chile next 13 of November, Tickets are still on sale for some of their classes and can be booked directly with Dancehall Vybz. further, as part of the events surrounding the classes that he will teach in the country, the dancer will be the jury of an afternoon of Battles and will also participate in an “All White” party that will be reported by the organizers' networks.
