A 88 coronazión years of Haile Selassie

As it occurs every 2 of November, Rastafarian people of the world join in celebrating the coronation of Tafari Makkonen as His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I, with Empress Menen, in a distant 1930, make 88 years, in ethiopia.

It was a great event with high international connotation, since great world leaders of that time came to this ceremony, which also had great importance for Africa and Africans, as well as for those who were in the diaspora.

And it is precisely for them that this coronation marked a fundamental milestone, as many remembered the words of the prophet Marcus Garvey, a Jamaican activist who fought for the return to mother: “Look at africa, where a black king will be crowned, because the day of liberation is coming”.

It was precisely this prophecy that many Jamaicans remembered who saw that king in Selassie, those who later made up the Rastafari movement.

Thus, It is 2 November is a celebration for all the dreadlocks around the world, as it happens in Chile in the South Tabernacle, where the celebrations are centered.

further, a group of Chilean dreadlocks traveled to Jamaica to spend these festivities at the Nyahbinghi Center in Pitfour with the elders of the movement.
